Munchoro · walk-up
The Stand
Wednesday to Sunday · closed Monday and Tuesday. Summer weekdays from 5:00 pm.
Classics from $2.50 · no booking needed
The stand is inside the covered market in Tucson, Arizona, and everything on it is fried after you order. The dough waits in the piping bag, the oil sits at 375°F, and your churro goes in when you ask for it, not before.
That means a short wait when the line is long, usually the length of one fry, 90 to 110 seconds. It also means a churro that still crackles when you bite it, which is the only reason anybody should wait in line for one.

Summer Hours and the Heat Rule
- 5:00pm Weekday Opening Wednesday to Friday, in summer
- 9:00am Weekends, Unchanged Saturday and Sunday as usual
From June 1 to September 15 the stand opens at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, once the worst of the afternoon has gone off the market roof. Closing times stay the same, and Saturday and Sunday keep their usual hours.
108°F
The thermometer by the flower stall
There is an old thermometer on the post by the market's flower stall. On any afternoon it reads above 108°F, I stop frying. At that heat the dough slackens in the bag, the eight ridges come out soft, and a churro without sharp ridges does not hold its sugar. I would rather close early than hand you one of those.

Pickup Trays
Collected at the stand during opening hours.
Per tray
$42
24 classics and 2 dipping cups, fried within 10 minutes of your collection time, so the tray is still warm when it lands on the office table or the back-yard bench.
- 24 Classics Plus 2 dips of your choice
- 48hr Notice At the least, by email
- 6 Trays a Day The most we take
Write at least 48 hours ahead with the day and the time you will collect. We fry the tray to that minute, and we take no more than 6 a day so the walk-up line keeps moving. For a party under 50 guests, order trays instead: each tray of 24 covers about 8 guests at the cart's three churros a head.
One fryer, one dough
What We Will Not Sell You
-
Gluten-Free or Allergen-Free Churros
There is one fryer and one wheat-flour dough at the stand, so we cannot honestly promise either, and we will not pretend to.
-
Shipping, Frozen Dough or Take-and-Bake Kits
A churro is good for about 20 minutes after the oil, which is not long enough to survive a box, a freezer or somebody else's oven.
-
Anything Reheated
Nothing is kept warm, and we do not reheat churros from another kitchen in our oil. Every churro we sell goes into the fryer after you order it.
Bigger than a tray
Fifty Guests or More
For a party of 50 or more, the fry cart comes to you at $9 a guest, and you can price it before you write.
